Finding payment processing can be difficult for a peptide business that operates strictly for research use only. Some providers do not support the category, while others expect merchants to describe their business in ways that do not accurately reflect what they sell.

2nd Amendment Processing (2ndAP) can connect eligible RUO peptide businesses with a specialized processing option built around transparent business presentation and ongoing website compliance review. The program is currently available to businesses in the United States and Canada.

This is a specialized program with strict requirements. It may be a fit for some merchants, but it is not right for every peptide business. A compliance review does not guarantee final approval by the processing and underwriting partners.

Program terms at a glance

  • Processing rate: 10% + $0.30 per transaction. Higher-volume merchants may qualify for a discount, subject to review. Program terms and base pricing are set by the underwriting partner and are non-negotiable.

  • Reserve: No rolling reserve under the stated program terms.

  • Business stage: Startups are accepted for review.

  • Minimums and contract: No monthly processing minimum and no long-term contract.

  • Payouts: Standard T+2 payout timing; the first payout is subject to a seven-day hold.

  • Checkout: The card statement descriptor can show the merchant’s brand name. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported.

  • Platform: WooCommerce on WordPress is the primary integration path. There is a one time $1000.00 setup fee for WooCommerce. Headless WooCommerce and some API or custom integrations may be considered.

  • Compliance platform: $100 per month, beginning at the start of onboarding—before final processing approval.

  • Availability: United States and Canada.

Shopify, Magento, and Convertri are not standard supported integrations at this time. Existing MATCH-listed merchants are not eligible. Applications involving owners or principals with a prior MATCH listing are reviewed case by case. SARMs and steroids are not permitted.

What the compliance platform does

The compliance platform continuously scans a merchant’s website and reports items that may need correction. It does not automatically edit pages, remove products, or rewrite website content. In the standard process, the merchant installs the plugin, reviews the findings, and makes the required changes. 2ndAP’s partner does not need administrator access to the website for that process.

If a merchant later removes the plugin, changes already made to the website remain in place. Removing it simply ends the plugin’s monitoring functionality.

Compliance is ongoing. If the website falls out of compliance after processing begins, processing may be paused until the issue is corrected. Serious or intentional violations may result in termination from the program.

Existing age gates and research-use acknowledgments must be replaced with the compliance platform’s own gates so those acknowledgments are captured in its compliance record. If a merchant would rather not make the website corrections internally, paid remediation may be available.

Website content must clearly remain research-only

The program does not allow website content that presents products for human use or personal benefit. Major compliance concerns include:

  • Human-use or consumption language

  • Dosing, injection, administration, frequency, units, or “how to use” instructions

  • Calculators that guide personal peptide use, dosing, or injection units

  • Human-use protocols, injection guides, cycles, or stacks

  • Links to outside human-use content

  • Weight-loss, muscle-building, anti-aging, personal-benefit, or disease-treatment claims

  • Product names or terminology that strongly imply human use

Certain peptide and GLP-related names are receiving additional scrutiny. Naming expectations can change, so the compliance team reviews naming conventions during the process. Business names should also avoid terms such as “health” or “wellness,” which can suggest human-use services.

A transparent path, with clear limits

The provider’s position is that transparently presenting a business as RUO should not, by itself, result in a MATCH listing. That is not a guarantee against account closure, MATCH placement, or other action. Ordinary processing risks still apply, including excessive chargebacks, fraud, misrepresentation, prohibited activity, or other violations of processor or card-brand rules.

The website compliance review and final underwriting are separate steps. Passing the website review does not guarantee processing approval. Merchants should review the complete RUO Compliance Plugin Compliance Document before deciding whether to begin onboarding, especially because the $100 monthly compliance fee starts before final approval.

For eligible businesses that can maintain strict, ongoing research-only website standards, 2ndAP can help explore a transparent route to card processing through its partner program. To discuss eligibility, integration fit, and the full compliance requirements, request the program details and compliance document before starting onboarding.
